Professional Ethics & Event Standards
Myrtle October’s work is grounded in professionalism, dignity, privacy, informed participation, and respect for personal boundaries.
As a Human Services Board Certified Practitioner, I take seriously the responsibility that comes with bringing people together in private, professional, and social settings.
My events may include dinners, retreats, overnight accommodations, travel, curated conversations, professional development, entertainment, hospitality, or time for guests to relax and enjoy one another’s company. Some experiences are intentionally small and may take place in private venues.
Myrtle October–hosted experiences are professional and social gatherings. They are not sexual, dating-oriented, or adult-lifestyle events, and sexualized programming is not part of any event produced or facilitated by Myrtle October.
Privacy & Discretion
Privacy is part of the experience.
Guest lists, email lists, contact information, and attendee identities are not sold or distributed to other guests or outside marketers. Limited information needed to operate an experience is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Guests should not assume that another attendee’s presence at an event gives permission to contact, photograph, record, tag, livestream, or publicly identify them.
Photography, recording, livestreaming, and social-media posting may be restricted at certain experiences. When an event is designated camera-free or private, guests are expected to honor that boundary.
Professional Conduct
Guests are expected to treat one another with respect and to honor personal, professional, and physical boundaries.
Harassment, coercive behavior, unwanted advances, discrimination, intimidation, or conduct that undermines another guest’s sense of safety or dignity is inconsistent with the purpose of these gatherings.
Participation in conversations, activities, professional exchanges, or brief expertise-sharing opportunities is voluntary unless an event description clearly states otherwise.
Respect & Inclusion
Personal beliefs and perspectives are respected. Any guided or reflective activities will be described in advance, and participation is voluntary.
The Standard
My intention is simple:
Create thoughtful spaces where adults can connect, learn, rest, laugh, exchange ideas, enjoy hospitality, and spend meaningful time together without pressure, hidden agendas, or unnecessary intrusion into their private lives.
Guests should know what they are walking into before they arrive.
And they should be able to trust that the experience will be conducted with professionalism, discretion, and respect.
